TTU football schedule - 2010

Postby TTUEagles » Tue Feb 23, 2010 5:58 pm

It has already been confirmed that TTU opens at Arkansas on Sept 4. I've been told of a rumor that, in one of the next weeks, TECH travels to Fort Worth, TX, to take on TCU. This is odd to me, for Coach Brown has expressed his preference to only play 1 "money game," or game against an FBS school. Still, this just means more $$$ for TTU (ALL athletics) and some more recognition. Another problem is that they end 2010 with home games against EKU, then Jax St.

TTU's 2010 out-of-conference opponents: Arkansas, TCU, Maryville College...

Tech played Kansas State and Georgia last year. I think two FBS games/year worked out well last season. Hopefully it will this year.

It works out well financially (just under 1 million dollars last year from those two FBS games)...and is fun for fans to see TTU on a much larger stage. But, it's pretty much 2 guaranteed "L's" and I'd like to see TECH start playing other FCS schools out of conference...I understand why they do it, but I would rather see another FCS school on the schedule.

I'm excited about next years schedule. We have a legitimate shot at the OVC title if we can find a quarterback to replace Sweeney and we are drawing in better athletes from the surrounding area because we are playing games against schools like Arkansas and TCU. This is the fourthteenth straight year we have played a D-I program. The product on the field gets better each season thanks to Brown and his staff and next year will be filled with playmakers and difference creators.
